The US Navy is one of the most powerful armed forces in the world, and today it turns 242 years old. Here at Conroy's Flowers Simi Valley in Simi Valley, CA, we honor the men and women who for almost 250 years have been a part of the navy and have been on the front lines keeping our country safe. On the birthday (or anniversary) of the United States Navy we have decided to compile some great gift ideas to commemorate this great day for someone you know who is a Navy veteran or servicemen.
On October 13, 1775 the US Navy was originally established as the Continental navy, it almost ended after the American revolution as the our baby country didn’t have very much money and had to sell the complete fleet of ships and defense equipment. Often confused for Navy Day, the Navy’s birthday is a great day to show your appreciation for someone who is in the Navy.
A great gift to send someone for the Navy’s birthday is a fresh flower bouquet like Country Medley beautiful red roses, bright yellow sunflowers, brilliant carnival roses and more! A beautiful flower arrangement is a great idea because not only is it fresh and lets that navy veteran or serviceman know you thought of them, but it also will put a big smile on their face, because its unexpected! We also have a sunny Garden Bouquet that is also a great idea to send that serviceman you know, they will love the bright yellow roses, beautiful orange roses and lovely pink roses as well as pink daisy poms.
Don’t know anyone personally that is in the navy? Try organizing a Thank You card drive at your job, local school or church. Sending thank you cards on the Navy’s Birthday is a great gift idea because what better way to show servicemen that they are appreciated by sending a ship out at sea a bunch of thank-you’s hand written by the people their job is to protect. Letting them know that you appreciate the sacrifices they make to do their job daily. Things like the time away from family and long hours.
Another great idea to celebrate the Navy’s birthday is to check your local museum and see if they are having a celebration for Navy’s Birthday. Check on the volunteer requirements or maybe ask if you can volunteer and help set up, if you can’t donate some time you can always just attend the event, it is a great way to meet servicemen and veterans and tell them thank you personally!
